A lovely pair of french bloomers made approximately 1880/1900
They were invented in France and then reinvented by Amelia Bloomer
who modified the drawers that they wore so she could go bicycling.
Very poor women had to make theirs from flour sacks.
That is not the case here.
These bloomers are made from cotton with a delicate lace panel around the legs and
have an elastic waist.
These are original and not reproduction.
They have a couple of tiny rust pin marks on them but they are in great condition
for their age.
For collectors of social history, sleepwear, fancy dress, dramas etc.
sizes
waist 30 cms = 12" x 2 = 24"
leg length 47 cms = 18 1/2"
these measurements are taken without the waist being stretched.

We have other drawers, bloomers and knickers in our shop if you would care to take a
look. Thank you.
