TWENTY CENT SPECIAL!!!

I am finally bringing out my fortunate finds of BLACK slag glass from the Lake Michigan Shoreline. *If you read at the end of this listing, you will discover the rarity of black slag glass.

This lovely cratery glossy gem of a nugget is a black beauty and I have top drilled it to make the most awesome bead and it is adorned with a sweet little vintage metal brass flower and large brass jumpring. He measures 20mm x 15mm.

Enjoy this rare and earthy one-of-a-kind natural and organic artisan bead for your jewelry making supply!

*"Near the town of Leland Michigan, the Leland Lake Superior Ironworks dumped their slag for around 14 years and even attempted to confine it in wooden cribs to make a man made harbor for boats. By 1895 most of the ironworks in Michigan had closed due to the Depression of 1890. The interesting thing about the Leland slag versus other sites is the unique colors found there.
Though the most frequently looked for Leland Blue is not the rarest color, that would be black. Black slag is very rare and is the ultimate prize for a collector."
