This is a one of kind handmade solid glass 3 1/4 inch paperweight. This Crystal ball has a beautiful canary yellow core surrounded by ribbon canes. I make each of these canes by hand out of the 2100 degree glass melting furnace. These techniques are centuries old but the colors and style is clearly contemporary. The bottom is diamond polished to a glossy concave surface that is signed Jeff Mentuck 2012.

Artist's Statement

I have always had an interest in science, art, and fiery danger. I think that's why I was drawn to glassblowing. The glassblowing studio is like an applied physics laboratory that focus' on the forces of heat, gravity, and perseverance. Despite the dramatic flames and physical effort, the most important part of the process is DESIGN.

The focus of my work may change, but my design sense constantly strives to balance elements of form, color and composition in a way that remains both contemporary and classic. Each shape and design is refined over dozens of repetitions and evolves to meet its potential.

Please buy with confidence as I offer a one week no questions asked return policy.
