Something about the Sherlock series on BBC just lends itself well to the art style of Edward Gorey. They both favor Victorian wallpaper patterns, rich detail, and overly dramatic heroes. I've created my very own Baker Street Tinies, drawing on the worlds of Sherlock and Gorey together in a rich blend of crosshatching and misery.

This is a set of all eight printed cards. John's pose and predicament are an homage to Gorey's "J is for James" page, and Sherlock is a combination of "N is for Neville" and the wonderfully dramatic pose from "S is for Susan." Mycroft's pose and predicament are an homage to Gorey's "E is for Ernest" page, and Lestrade is a pastiche of "H is for Hector." Molly is from "F is for Fanny," and Mrs Hudson shares her fate with "T is for Titus." 221b is represented as both interior and exterior shots, with a mix of details from the show and Gorey's dismal worlds.

You can tell someone you miss them -- or don't -- using a touch of your favorite characters. Or just keep them and have your very own Sherlock characters just hanging around, waiting for their dismal ends.

Each one was originally hand-drawn for a commission, so the only way you can get them is printed on cards, or in a poster print here:

Each card is printed to order on 5"x7" Strathmore watercolor card stock, and includes a matching A7 envelope. These cards are made of a thick, luxuriously textured stock with one naturally rough deckle edge. All cards custom designed by artist Amy Crook using her hand-drawn original art.

Free first-class shipping is included, even internationally. Your order will ship on the next Monday or Thursday, whichever is sooner. I'm out in California, so the postal owls will fly as fast as they can to wherever you are.

If you'd like to buy them in pairs instead of all six at once, or just see more photos, their individual listings are here in the Sherlock section of my shop:
