My bright screen print of a beach scene in hot summer hues of magenta and orange with contrasting streaks of teal blue and flecks of copper on cool mint green paper, 8x10"

I love Los Angeles with its tangled, rambling melange of McMansions and MidMod Masterpieces, with electrical transformers and every-which-way signs all wandering around the poplars and palms and pepper trees tumbling and clambering over dry rocks and semi-arid soil to teeter last-minute over the rolling rollicky surf.

I printed these with fine artist's acrylic paint instead of ink. Each one is unique because I apply fresh swirls of new colors then every few minutes I wash out the screen and start over. The thick textures and subtle shimmer just cannot be obtained in a digital print.

These assured, oddball screen prints perfectly capture the fine details of my helter-skelter line drawing. Every skip of the ink, every flourish and flip of the line is expressed... and contrasted against the painterly background colors with bold patterns suggesting land masses.

The photo shows the print you'll receive with purchase -- there's only one in existence.

From our friends at Wikipedia: "Monoprints are known as the most painterly method among the printmaking techniques; it is essentially a printed painting. The characteristic of this method is that no two prints are alike. The beauty of this medium is also in its spontaneity and its combination of printmaking, painting and drawing media."
