This Lot Consists of Two [2] Hand Crafted MEXICAN BLACK POTTERY Pieces

One Intricately Cut Filigreed LUMINARIA with BASE signed ‘DONA ROSA COYOTEPEC OAX[ACA] MEX[ICO]’ and ONE VASE

The LUMINARIA measures approx. 6" tall x 4.25" across.

It is in FINE CONDITION; the matching base has one rim chip and normal scuffing (pictured).

Dona Rosa, who died in 1980, was one of the Village of San Bartolo’s most respected artisans.

ALSO INCLUDED in this lot IS A NEARLY FINE ARTFULLY ETCHED Black Clay OAXACAN VASE.

It is not signed but was purchased at the same time as the Luminaria.

It measures approx. 7" tall x 4.25" across.

This Slow Baked Hand Shaped, Cut and Etched Pottery, Called ‘Barro Negro’ in Spanish, is Renowned For It’s Deep Rich Ebony Tone with a Silver Luster.
