Here is a wonderful reminder of the glory days of airliners - stewardesses (they weren't called "flight attendants" then) wore go-go boots, high-fashion mini-skirts, bright-colored capes and bouffant hairdo's! In brilliant yellow and blue, the Hughes Airwest sign is for door 111 - I wonder who worked behind "Door 111"? This awesome piece of 1970s retro history measures 18" long and 7" high. It is made out of a very high-density plastic and weighs a little over two pounds. There is a small paint chip by the last "one" on the door number, and an even smaller paint chip on the edge of the logo, but otherwise it is in excellent condition.

Hughes AirWest was bought out in 1980, but there are still employee websites and employee reunions to this day. This door sign is a rare and wonderful piece of airline and American memorabilia that also would brighten any room or wall... as well as be an excellent conversation starter.
