My studies of the Southwest and the culture of the native American peoples have lead me to create these beautiful hand sculpted storyteller dolls.

What is a storyteller?
The history and traditions of the native American people of the southwest are preserved and passed on, one generation to the next through the faithful remembrance and retelling of the traditional stories.

Storyteller figures have become symbolic of that wonderful rich cultural heritage. Origination was in the ancient pueblos of what is now New Mexico. Storyteller figures are some of the most charming and unique works in all of American folk art.

This standing storyteller doll has colorful ribbons of turquoise, purple, white and gold polymer clay that create a beautiful cascading wrap,a turquoise skirt is where the local village children gather and listen to stories of their ancestors , this piece measures 10" tall. Each of these unique pieces is an hand formed OOAK. I sign each piece and include the history of storytellers with each piece.
