A wonderful pair of 1940s dancing sandals, in a dramatic bright pink. These breathtaking dancing shoes have danced many numbers, and are no longer perfect, but they are sturdy, wearable, and in such a rare size! Made of leather with a silk satin exterior, they were dyed to their current color, probably to match a gown. They are labeled "Tall'n'Smart" and "L.E. Massey, Washington, D.C." I love the ankle strap and curve of the heel.

This sort of satin takes dye well, and since they have some discoloration (see condition notes) I think they are perfect candidates for taking to a lovely bright red.

✂-----Measurements

Marked an 11 1/2 Nc
Interior Length: 11.25”
Interior Width: 3.25"
Width at Narrowest Point: 1.5"
Heel Height: 4”

Condition: Good

The soles are sturdy, the heel taps are good and the silk is not breaking. The shoes are somewhat stiff across the vamp. Most of the wear is scuffs/smudges to the silk, and some fade/discoloration of the dyed color on the left shoe. They are still wearable, and would look practically new if re-dyed to a new shade. There are still many dances left in them!
