This is an antique British India 1919, high grade silver One Rupee coin pendant with a decorative bale added.

The silver bale added is from Himachal Pradesh and the one rupee coin would have been part of a necklace with multiple coins that was used extensively in northern India in tribal silver necklaces.

There are two potential holes for stringing.

On the back of the coin is a crowned bust of George V King Emperor, and on the front side is the denomination and 1919 date within a circle and wreath surrounds.

The rupee coin has been silver tested for high grade (approx. 92%) as The British-Indian government used precious metal coinage until 1939. The rupee can be worn either way as the front.

The rupee coin has been strung on a 26cm (18") extending to 51cm (20") leather cord.

Height: 5 cm (1 7/8") including Bale
Width: 3.1 (1 1/8")
Bale: 2cm (3/4")
Weight: 12.9 grams (0.455 oz)
Material: High Grade silver
