This is a listing for a set of 4x10 grams of Kenanthrol acid dye. It is an ideal option for dyeing protein fibers like wool, cashmere, angora, alpaca or silk fast and easily. These are primary colors, middle blue, claret- magenta, daffodil yellow and intense black which can be mixed to obtain a range of splendid colors. This is a great choice for you if you like doing experiments, and you enjoy playing with colors as there are no exact recipes for mixed colors, it depends on your mood and whishes:

Mixed Colour -----Primary Colour ---- Primary Colour-----Primary Colour
Orange--------------claret- magenta----daffodil yellow
Green---------------- daffodil yellow------middle blue
Purple------------------middle blue-------claret- magenta
Brown ----------------claret- magenta----daffodil yellow--------intense black

This amount of dye is sufficient for dyeing up to 4 kgs of wool into medium shade.

Approximate measurements:
Pale shades 0.5gms per 100gms fabric
Medium shades 1gms per 100gms fabric
Dark shades 2gms per 100gms fabric

You will need vinegar or ammonium sulphate to fixate the color.
It can be used either on the stove or, for smaller quantities in a microwave oven.
You can also use it for Dip Dyeing, Tie Dyeing, Shibori Dyeing, Batiks.
In the last picture you can see some examples that I have achieved on wool by mixing these primary colors.
A sheet with the dyeing instructions is included.
I have been using this dye for several years on wool and I would happily share my experience.

Please note, that these are chemicals, the basic safety measurements should be taken during the dyeing process.
