Seg-Man-Ted (segmented) is constructed from a recycled computer desk. You know, those black laminate over MDF (press board) ones. The desk panel was cut into 'boards' and then each one was shaped to a 'slice' of the face profile. These slices were then held together with a clamp while the face details were carved.

Once the carving was complete, each piece was drilled and 'strung' together with a wooden dowel rod with washers being used as spacers between each of the 20 segments. The panel was splattered with several colors of wood dye and the two 'nose' panels were painted with acrylic. 18k gold paint was used to highlight the eyes and lips.

The face measures 21 1/2" long and 13 1/2" wide. The depth is approx. 3" at the nose. The face is ready to be hung by a wire strung between eyelets.

Thanks for having a look.
