Antique 1800s Eastern European double-sided enamel locket, no chain. This piece has slight flaws, but is strikingly beautiful nonetheless. It features lovely blue enameling over brass metal with a sweet little floral bouquet hand-painted front and back over turquoise blue enamel. The locket opens with a small notch on the side to reveal two round gold spaces inside with a framed moveable glass panel sandwiched between. The locket hinge is intact, but is loose/wiggly so it may require repair or reinforcement of some sort, I'll leave that up to you. The locket closes quietly, but it doesn't seem to stay shut as it opens up fairly easily--seems to stay closed when worn however. It measures 27mm (1-1/16th inches) in diameter with a loop and attached jump ring at the top. Some wear over the years including slight scratches and nicks to the enamel. A beautiful very rare little work of art.
