Rectangular Mission was one of the earliest glass sets (around 1912) produced for the Hoosier Manufacturing Company, maker of the Hoosier Cabinet. Mission style jars are very scarce because they were only produced for a short period of time. The canisters (jars) were manufactured by the Sneath Glass Co. of Hartford City, Indiana for Hoosier cabinets. Both the jar and the lid are in great condition; the jar has a minor chip on the side rim and the very top of the rim is rough as seen in an item that is almost 100 years old. Of course, the lid screws onto the jar as intended. Whether the kitchen is country, shabby chic, rustic, eclectic, mission or even minimalist style, this valuable, rare piece will add architectural design interest and historic charm.

Approximately 7.25 inches tall.
