"Presenting the City As a Complete Organism in Which All Its Functions Are Related One to Another in Such a Manner That It Will Become a Unit." -Plan of Chicago, 1909.

Only a few details of Burham's Plan were realized, many of them decades later. These include the treatment of Grant Park, Lower Wacker Drive and the River's edge, and some elements of the expressway system.

This bowl is 7" wide and by 3.5" deep (an excellent size for serving) and features bits and pieces of Burnham's Plan. The technique I used is not unlike silk screen printing. The images are subtly printed on the outside of the bowl underneath a green celadon glaze. The inside of the bowl is a glossy red.

-The glazes I use are lead-free and food safe
-Pieces are high fired to over 2200°F
-Fine for use in the dishwasher and microwave
