This is definitely an investment piece that can be easily worn often with on trend fashion. It will add an intimate little touch of luxury and indulgence to any outfit. Petite enough for day wear or to die for on a Little Black Dress, boardroom attire or evening coat. Definitely not a piece of 'old lady' jewellery. It is super sleek and contemporary.

This simple yet intricate brooch is absolutely stunning. It is the epitome of understated elegance. I think it was made towards the end of the Edwardian and beginning of the Art Deco periods. However it is hard to judge as the simplicity of the design really is timeless. Perhaps if it were made today the delicate cheniers would not be present. Everything about the sleek brooch is perfectly engineered and beautifully balanced. All the surfaces are wonderfully smooth and it is a pleasure to hold. Although it is a brooch, it is also a piece of ornate three dimensional sculpture which is visually stunning from every angle.

The brooch is petite in size but not in sparkle. The 15 old cut diamonds catch the light from all angles and twinkle constantly. This hand made brooch is in great vintage condition and has obviously been well loved and cared for. The clasp is very secure and in perfect working order. The pin slips under the hook and is then secured again by a clever little latch. The craftsmanship of this intricate petite brooch is superb.

The edge of the brooch has been finished with millgrain relief. Millgraining was a typical decorative technique used throughout the Edwardian and Deco periods. It is a border of small ridges around a setting or on the outer edge of the jewellery that gives the piece a softer, lighter and brighter look. It is difficult to tell in the light where the diamonds end and the white gold begins.

At well under half of the replacement valuation ($2,447.00), this brooch represents astute buying and excellent investment value. It is a truly timeless piece which will always be in fashion.
