Brazilian Agate - there are at least 15 major agate-producing areas in Brazil. 12 of these are located in the 5 most southeastern states of the country, Rio Grande do Sul, immediately
north of Uruguay, being the best known and the location of this agate. Agates were discovered in the late 1920's by a geologist named B.V. Freyburg with the Geological Survey of Argentina. Current laws in Brazil prohibit the export of unfinished agate
The agates from Brazil are mostly mined from decomposed volcanic ash and basalt from the late Permian age (248-275 million years ago) In Rio Grande do Sul the "agate mines" are normally just plowed fields in which loose agates are found and collected.

Gemstone picks will last a long time. The picks have a polished edge that allows the pick to glide across the guitar strings.

All pictures taken outdoors in sunlight and dry (sometimes people take pictures with the rock wet to show what they look like polish). Color may vary some from the original, but should be close.
All picks are hand made by me and only me!

Note: Stone picks can BREAK!
The main concern for your stone picks long life is dropping it on tile or concrete floors. Also do not carry the guitar picks in your wallet or loose in your pocket with your keys or coins. Don't try to flex your pick , rocks don't flex they break.
