I've had this piece since 2003, bought a collection of Civil War and Post Civil War Cast Iron Kettles. I was told it is from 1860 - 1890. Not sure but definitely old and in great condition.

This piece was recently cleaned and polished. No rust nor damage. Couldn't clean too well inside so I wouldn't recommend using unless you thoroughly clean it before use and handle needs to be polished as well.

This definitely makes a wonderful home or garden accent piece. Civil War kettles are big collectors' items for inside and outside the home. Popular for rustic or primitive garden motifs and in americana or country kitchens.

This piece weighs a whopping 8 and 1/2 lbs. Hard to imagine how heavy it would be with water in it.
Sliding lid ensures you will never lose the lid and handle makes it easier to carry.

Kettle stands 6" high, with handle is 11" tall and 10" long.

Due to the weight of this piece shipping is high - if it's an overestimate I will refund you the difference.
