the tiny tick tock of the busy premonition

an original mixed media collage

a gentle yet lively collage featuring various individual figure studies - a coming together of stitched figures and monoprint drawings with delicate layers of papers from old books.

The title for this work came from putting together words found in old books.....'the tiny tick tock' is the heart beat of life, day to day, the caring and giving and sharing of life, perhaps.... here you see independent characters, some quite abstracted figures, people connecting with others, each with a story to tell.....

I have stitched using an improvisational technique, using my sewing machine as a drawing tool. I like frayed edges, layers, ripped papers and lines of stitch to give a textured feel.

For this original collage I have used a variety of materials: naturally dyed fabrics, yellowed papers from old books, thread and watercolour paper.

The collage is stitched on to heavy watercolour paper. Signed on reverse.

This work measures: 24cm x 19.5cm

Will come to you carefully packaged
