This beautiful little plate can be used to serve food or as a decoration in your home. My mother, Virginia, painted it, signed it and dated it 1989. I was given an antique china plate similar to this one as a graduation gift. I dropped it and it broke into several pieces. Mom copied the original to make this one. To create this beauty, she purchased a plain white porcelain luncheon plate, 8 1/4" in diameter. She hand painted it using china paints and fired it in a kiln to preserve the colors. The background is a pale moss green, the leaves are that same moss green and the roses are a peachy pink color. A gold leaf rim is around the border of the plate. It is safe to eat on. It would be lovely hanging on a wall or displayed in a plate stand.

While you're looking, check out everything in my shop. I have stained glass night lights, candle holders and picture frames. James has woodcrafted bookends and game boards. Our daughter has holiday necklaces. I have Christmas stockings, and I have more vintage handmades. Check back with me often. It seems like I'm always adding something new.

While you're looking, check out my other shop, Minis by Hobbymakers. That shop is exclusively for miniatures. Everything handmade in the shop is made the way it would have been 100+ years ago. http://www.etsy.com/shop/MinisbyHobbymakers?ref=si_shop
