This book is Jim Corbett's own story of his experiences with the man eating tigers of Kumaon. To the excitement of the chase and the kill, which Lieutenant Colonel Corbett imparts in a simple and direct but vivid and dramatic style, is added a picture of jungle life that is rare in the history of literature of this kind. His love of nature, his knowledge of jungle ways, his keen observations of wild life, have all played their part in creating a story of the cunning and cruelty of the man eater pitted against the courage and resourcefulness of man. Kumaon lies in the Himalayas in the far northern United Provinces of India.
Very unusual and exciting vintage book, great subject matter and several photographs also. Very nice condition. Dust jacket has gorgeous artwork. Great condition for its age, minor wear to the jacket, a little chipping around the edges. Book itself is still tight and square, light yellowing that in no way distracts from this book. I took the plastic off of the dust jacket cause it was damaged but it managed to keep this book in lovely condition. 235 pages. A great addition to your library!
