This is a MADE -TO-ORDER item. CONTACT ME BEFORE ORDERING THIS BIRDHOUSE. The version I will make for you may will be subject to the inherent variations of working with reclaimed materials, e.g., color and texture of wood and metal. Note the color and other variations in the photos above. See my shop message for the current general production schedule. Contact me and I will let you know what material differences you may expect and a more precise schedule for delivering your birdhouse. Following is the original description:

"Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." So said William Morris, one of the leaders of the arts and crafts movement. I hope this birdhouse, built in the arts and crafts tradition, satisfies both of Morris' dictates. Like all of my birdhouses, it is functional and ornithologically correct and can accommodate most common backyard small cavity-nesting birds, such as finches, chickadees, wrens, nuthatches, warblers, and titmice, while the copper portal protector discourages larger birds and predators from enlarging the entrance. It has a rear clean-out hatch, copper-lined ventilation holes on three sides and a drain hole in the floor, as well as notches on the inside front wall to aid fledglings as they exit the nest. It is made from old barn wood (pine) from a barn built in Olivet, KS in 1914. The metal trim and roof are made of weathered metal roofing from another farm building in Lawrence, KS. The iron ring on top is from a vintage iron planter and sits on top of an unidentified farm implement piece. All materials are carefully selected for their structural integrity.

Advice and instructions for hanging or pole mounting this birdhouse are included. See my other birdhouses at http://roundhouseworks.etsy.com. Join my Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/roundhouseworks.

A NOTE ABOUT SHIPPING: The rate for Alaska and Hawaii are double the rate given below for domestic shipments. In those cases USPS will be used (no tracking is available with that service).
