I LOVE this style of ring! It was very popular in England during the Victorian "Romantic Period"...before Prince Albert died and everyone got sad and wicked into black and mourning...

This was a time of flowers and love and happiness and this is the popular flower ring with a ruby as the center part of the flower and beautiful natural (untreated) turquoise cabochons that act as the petals.

The gold shoulders are beautifully crafted with swirls and flourishes....simply sublime!

Turquoise was a very popular gemstone used in Victorian Era jewelry. It was believed to bring happiness, strength and good luck to the wearer. And since Queen Victoria loved turquoise (all her bridesmaids received a brooch with a turquoise-encrusted bird), it became even more popular.

HALLMARKS: 12 for 12K Gold, the Anchor for Birmingham and capital H for the year 1856

It's in good all original condition, but some wear commserate with age- there is a split in the gold band's shoulder (see last pic) a small piece of gold holding the ruby is missing (but still secure in setting), see first pic. Ring has been resized at one point, but all of the main hallmarks are still there...if you re-sized the ring again, you would lose all of the major marks, like date letter and the Birmingham mark. Price reflects current condition.

Ring Size 6.5 - can't be re-sized (please see above Condition for reasons why)
