Here's a charming pair of vintage 1900 to 1930's late Victorian to Art Deco period humorous Dog & Cat cast iron Bookends ~ half bodied figural Schnauzer dog and cat peeking around the corner of a brick wall or arched door at one another. Subtle details in the casting such as the iron peg of the gate, the brick and mortar and boards of the wall, and the grass at their feet.

A steel blue residue on the bottom base edges is from felt.

They measure appx. 4" x 4" x 4". Hubley & Littco were popular Victorian era cast iron figural foundry manufacturers. Perfect Paris cottage decor accent~! Lovely detail in them~! Collector quality~~
