Stud buttons are some of the simplest earrings I offer. The beads were formed by hand from the natural, iron-rich clay which was dug from the Appalachian foothills of South Carolina. Each pair achieves a unique pattern into the surface of the clay during the pit firing, a very ancient method. There are no perfect matches, but each set is paired according to size and pattern.

There's a great deal of warm orange coloration in this pair with neutral-yellow highs to warm, medium-gray lows. The mica found in the clay adds greater dimension.

The studs average 7mm in diameter and 4mm high. They are secured by a surgical steel back and fastener.
