large cloth covered buttons, a boxy 3/4 sleeve jacket , and a skirt style somewhere between shirtwaist and wiggle dress, and a size zipper (looks nylon) date this at about mid to late 1960s * amazing craftmanship, with darts and gathers in clever spaces (like the cuff of the sleeves) add a feminine touch to the boxy jacket * pinked seams, no serging * bold and colourful print a movement away from the more subdued and 'smart' solid colours of the 1950s and early 1960s, going toward a more 'mod' style * bow clasp on jacket includes 2 hook and eye closures (the 'eye' part consists of 2 delicate threads that match the fabric, so that if you choose to wear the jacket open, you cannot see the gaudy silver 'eye' clasps - they really don't make 'em like this anymore!) *another feature I love about 1950s and 1960s dresses? the bra clasps at the shoulders so that you can snap your bra into place to prevent 'embarrassing' bra slips- why oh why don't they do this on all dresses anymore??

very good - this dress is in remarkable shape. There is one little spot under the waist band on the right hand side (wearer's right) that looks as if it's been patched with crosshatched stitching (see last pic, it's really barely noticeable) * there seems to be light staining around the armpits, which is consistent with the heavy aluminum found in deodorants of the time * belt loops indicate a missing belt, but if I were the wearer I would add a bright pink one to emphasize the lovely fuschia shade in the dress
