Hard to find pattern, smaller size & cinnamon tone.
Beautiful to use, display on wall.

Circa 1870, Aesthetic cinnamon, spice brown transferware platter in the highly desirable Phileau pattern. Stormy sea with huge wave, fishing boat in central medallion. Tall sail ships, peaceful moonlit night scene in border cartouches.

Substantial and heavy.

Mfg. by CW Turner & Sons, Tunstall, England with underglaze maker's mark on back.

12 1/8" x 10 5/8"

This Staffordshire ironstone pattern was produced in at least three variations of brown transfer: dark chocolate, cinnamon and a lighter taupe brown.

Overall good condition: no discoloration/stains, cracks, chips/flakes/fleabites or repairs observed. Central medallion shows moderate+ wear and utensil marks dulling the glaze some. Numerous, miniscule/pinpoint glaze pops. Barely noticeable and does not detract from use or display, in our opinion.

Excellent addition to any Aesthetic, brown transferware, English ironstone or Staffordshire pottery collection.

PAYMENT: Online payments accepted only by credit/debit card via Google Checkout secure processing service. Mailed payment by money order/cashier's check. International buyers pay by Google Checkout. I WILL MANUALLY GENERATE MY GOOGLE CHECKOUT INVOICE after order is place.
