Vintage book, Laddie, a True Blue Story, Gene Stratton-Porter, 1913

This is a beautiful ediition of this lovely classic story. Other works by Gene Stratton Porter include The Girl of the Limberlost and Freckles. I first found these stories as an adult but I think they may be meant for young adults-I really don't know-they are just lovely tales.

Gene Stratton Porter wrote of life long ago. The illustrations are by Herman Pfeifer, there are 4 gorgeous and detailed color plates. The frontispiece and title pages have a lovely blue forest/foliage background-can you tell that I am in love with this book?

602 pages. Printed in Garden City New York, The Country Life Press, Doubleday Page and Company, 1913.

This book is in good vintage shape. Some minor scuffing/foxing/darker blue mark on the cover and rubbing on the corners but the pages are intact, nothing loose, secure binding.
