Spun with lots of love just for you in Eugene, Oregon!

Border Leicester is a glossy longwool that behaves very similarly to Mohair when spun as a semi-woolen single. This yarn has a gorgeous luster to it as well as a nice halo. I hand dyed it using a blend of certified organic Assam and Houjicha teas along with a bit of certified organic lemon balm to obtain this warm antique golden beige color with a peaceful and soothing aura.

This wool is skin soft enough for some people, so you may be able to get a nice pair of mittens, arm warmers, or a hat from this yarn. It is a fairly durable wool so it would also work for a handbag or home decor item, such as a pillow cover. I can make more of this, just ask!

Comes to you tied with recycled sari silk ribbons!

Even though this is a worsted weight yarn, I recommend knitting it on #10 or 10 1/2 needles to allow the halo to fully bloom. The last photo shows an undyed swatch knitted on #10 needles, on which about 5 stitches and four rows = 1 inch.

All of my yarns are spun in a smoke-free but pet-friendly household on either my vintage Ashford Traditional or my handcrafted Wee Wheel, finished in Eucalan wool wash, and air dried without weights. Please wash in cold water with a gentle wool wash only!
