Fun Facts About Cowboy Boots

As far back as can be traced, horsemen throughout the ages universally preferred higher-heeled boots. They represented nobility or a profession on horseback, hence the old adage "well heeled." (http://www.western-cowboy-boots.com/)

The number of women enrolled in boot-making schools and fulfilling apprenticeships has quadrupled since 1992. (http://www.western-cowboy-boots.com/)

The historic American cowboy of the late 19th century arose from the vaquero traditions of northern Mexico and became a figure of special significance and legend. The term 'cowgirl' was defined in the late 19th century. They had a less-well documented historical role, but in the modern world have established the ability to work at virtually identical tasks and obtained considerable respect for their achievements.
