This is for a 1-pound ball of gumpaste to use for making flowers and other cake decorations. This is the gumpaste that I make myself to use for cake decorations including flowers, pearls and molded items.

This is my own recipe that I came up with to give a good stretch and slightly longer working time. I can cut out multiple petals and leave them on the counter without covering them and they don't dry out as fast as other gumpaste recipes. When it dries it's less brittle than recipes with only egg whites. The texture of the dried pieces has a little give.

The feedback that I've received from people is that it's a great value and product!

This is NOT a vegan recipe, it does contain gelatin.

This gumpaste has a nice stretch and can be rolled very thin. It holds detail well, and its texture can be adjusted to your liking by adding cornstarch or shortening to it without any noticeable change in the quality.

1 pound is the size of the ball in the photos. The number of flowers that you can make with that amount is hard to estimate because it will vary depending on how thin you roll it out. I can get about five big peonies out of one pound.

I make the gumpaste to order, wrap it in a double layer of plastic wrap and put it in a ziplock bag to ship it. When you get it you should either use it fairly soon or store it in the freezer if you won't be using it promptly. If you leave it out at room temperature for a long time it can dry out on the surface and you'll have to cut the dry part off. Store in the fridge in between uses.

Although this is a food-safe item, with the amount of handling that it gets while it's being formed into shapes it should be considered a non-edible item.

If you want to buy more than 1 pound at a time let me know before you buy. I can ship two pounds in a flat rate box to minimize the cost. Anything more than that will have to be figured out on a case-by-case basis based on the weight and your mailing address. Feel free to convo me about it!

Frequently asked questions about ACakeToRemember

I accept custom orders if you contact me ahead of time to confirm that I can do them. I can't match colors exactly but can get them pretty close (except for purple, that's a tricky one in food colors.)
I don't do anything overnight delivery. I might be able to do priority express in the U.S. (one to two day delivery) for certain items, but it's expensive and I don't guarantee delivery times since that's out of my control. If you need something fast please contact me before placing the order, or I may have to cancel if I can't fill it within the time frame you need it.
Gumpaste will last for months if it's stored correctly, but I'd order flowers for weddings or gumpaste succulents about a month ahead of time. Wafer paper butterflies are good for a year or more if they're kept dry and out of sunlight to avoid fading.

All gumpaste should be opened CAREFULLY and stored in a dry area at room temperature. Don't refrigerate gumpaste, wafer paper or sugar sea glass, moisture is the enemy of sugar and starches, and can soften these items and ruin them.
Because sugar attracts moisture, and customs warehouses are apparently humid, I've had some gumpaste and fondant items ruined while they sat in customs. Because of this I don't ship certain flowers or pearls outside the US.
It depends. I need to have an actual item to use to make a mold, so I can't make one from a picture of a piece of lace, for example. But if you have something that you're willing to send to me I might be able to create a mold from it. I usually can't make a larger or smaller version of molds that I already have listed (again, I need an original to make a mold from).
If you have a picture, I can help you figure out what you need to buy. I do need to know the sizes of the cake tiers, since the amount of flowers or other decorations needed will depend on how big the cake is going to be.
I ship packages Monday through Saturday, since there's no mail on Sunday.

Edible butterflies, wafer paper, supplies, and silicone molds can usually be shipped the first business day after the order is placed.

Paper flowers can be shipped two to three days after the order is placed.

Fondant and gumpaste orders vary since I have to make them and they need time to dry before they're ready to be shipped safely. I can generally get them in the mail three to five days after ordering, but it might take longer for larger orders. Feel free to convo me with questions about specific items.
NO!!! I'm not a VAT registered business because I'm in the US. Any VAT or import fees that are imposed will be charged when you receive the package, not when you pay for the item. I do NOT include taxes in my prices, and the only tax I collect is the sales tax for the state of Virginia, which I do remit to the state tax department on a quarterly basis.
