I love this sketch of a tough immigrant pioneer woman tending to the fields. It's one of the original illustrations Willa Cather commissioned from Bohemian artist W.T. Benda for the first printing of her beloved novel, My Antonia, but which her publisher rejected. Luckily, the University of Nebraska intervened, and the beautiful 1954 edition from which this illustration comes is filled with Benda's drawings.

I created this nostalgic pendant to capture the essence of Cather's novel and the strength of womanhood. The image is featured within an antiqued bronze 1.5" oval frame and hangs from a matching 20" ball chain (want it shorter? Just ask!).

This pendant necklace would be such a touching gift for someone with a love of gardening or farming. All of my necklaces arrive in handstamped muslin bags perfect for gift giving.

Please treat your pendant with care to protect the vintage paper inside -- while it should be fine if you are caught in the rain, do not submerge.
