Hubble Space Telescope image that inspired this colorway:

NGC 1999 is an example of a reflection nebula. Like fog around a street lamp, a reflection nebula shines only because the light from an embedded source illuminates its dust; the nebula does not emit any visible light of its own. NGC 1999 lies close to the famous Orion Nebula, about 1,500 light-years from Earth. NGC 1999 was discovered some two centuries ago by Sir William Herschel and his sister Caroline.

About this yarn:

Starfield Lace is an especially space-age fiber blend, featuring soft, springy merino wool, lovely and luscious silk, and a splash of starlight (stellina)! Stellina is a non-metallic shiny thread that is soft and pliable. The generous yardage is ideal for shawls and scarves, and the added bling of the stellina will make your piece sparkle.

While this yarn is machine washable in cold water, hand washing can extend the life of the garment. Lay flat to dry.

This colorway is available as a custom order. Note that all my yarns are hand-dyed and no two skeins are the same, despite similarities.

This item is multi-colored in lilac, navy, and charcoal tones. My camera has difficulty showing purple next to blues, and the most color-accurate picture (at least on my monitor) is the "loose strands" photo (1st image). This listing is for one 100g skein in the colorway shown in the picture. I take pictures that represent the color/texture of the item as accurately as I can. Please remember that monitors vary in how they render colors. If you have any questions, I welcome your conversation.

All my yarns are hand-dyed one at a time, using high-quality, professional dyes in a non-smoking, pet-free home.
