This listing is for a vintage spool of Heminway and Bartlett, Rezilyant brand pure silk sewing thread in a gorgeous, true violet color. The spool is a full 50 yards and is a very fine size A. The spool originally cost .30 cents.
This type of silk was originally sold as fine, hand sewing silk. I like to use it for embroidery and embellishment. Just really beautiful stuff and the color is amazing.
I have unwrapped the silk down several layers to be certain that it is strong and in perfect condition.
This spool has the original color number: 740
My pictures show both ends of the spool, the thread in closeup and a darling ad from the time.

I will be listing many more spools of silk from this time period, so do check back often. Listing each one separately is time consuming, but I would rather you choose the colors that you want rather than my choosing them for you by grouping.
