A made to order cotton kimono (yukata) for males or females in any standard adult size from a US ladies small to a men's large. Men's sleeves are square and more attached to the body as pictured in image 3. Women's are rounded and open under the arms for a more contoured fit (image 4). I can also make the truly unisex; the two features are blended, with closed underarms and curved hems.

Made using a traditional pattern with minor adjustments in the larger sizes. Can be made in any length; traditionally they are either ankle length or ohashori length (for women only; long enough for the waist fold commonly seen on formal kimono). I have also made them for a variety of cosplay/costume purposes; let me know what you are looking for!

Made with American cotton, with various patterns depending on what is available; ask about color choices and general pattern preferences. Or it can be made in any other fabric desired, including your own. All seams are french seamed or hand sewn to prevent fraying. Order is usually completed in 2-5 days.

Yukata were actually originally robes worn at hot springs, much like dressing gowns here in the west. As time went on they became clothing in their own right, often worn at summer festivals. Think of them as the blue jeans of the kimono family; appropriate for play and work, but you can't wear them to a black-tie affair^^ They are actually seeing a return to popularity by younger generations, possibly because they are easier to wear and care for, and with fewer 'rules' on proper patterns and colors, than formal kimono.
For a long time yukata were almost always made of cotton, with white, blue or bluish gray patterns. Now they are made in a variety of bright colors and patterns, 'though cotton is still by far the fabric of choice. Most men's yukata are still fairly plain, with geometric or water-themed prints, whereas women's yukata are often floral patterned. Children's yukata can end up having just about anything on them, from solid colored to toys, Mickey Mouse and Hello Kitty-chan.
