Wow, a totally awesome 1920s vintage mailbox with newspaper holder. Not sure of the decorative style name, but it surely is decorative. All the mechanisms from the swinging mail slot to the turn key to the door opener are in perfect working order. Has a window to peek through to check for the mail. The metal has a wonderful textured pattern manufactured into it, in fact two patterns that you can compare and contrast on the side view.

Manufactured of sheet iron, it is solid and strong. There is no rust, corrosion or holes. I suspect the paint is a later addition. The hardware (nut and bolts holding the newspaper holders) seems original. Mailbox container is 10" in height, 6.5" wide and 2.25" deep. There is no manufacturing name discerned.

This would certainly be a distinctive and time appropriate addition to a vintage house, competing very favorably in price to higher quality modern mailboxes.

The shipping cost includes postage, signed receipt and insurance. When shipping, the newspaper holders will be taken off and the nuts and bolts stored inside the mailbox.

Very decorative 1920s mailbox with newspaper holder
