An eight pointed star is not as easy to make as you would think. I wanted to expand my piecing skills. I made three of these star quilts at about the same time along with a couple of small triangle quilts with the scraps. For the yellow block I added small green square accents between each point.
Each block is separated with a large light colored background fabric and separated with green.
This is a really long quilt that can be used on a sofa or for a twin bed with enough length to fold over the pillow. Green backing is used and tucked around the front to form a generous border. Medium thick batting was used to make the quilt warm. The quilt top is machine sewn. All layers were hand tied together with embroidery thread.
Size: 56 inches wide X 99 inches long
This quilt would be a joy to have. It would make a great picnic blanket on a warm summer's day.
Cotton with cotton poly blend for the backing. Machine wash cold.
