Charmeuse is said to be the smoothest and most lustrous of all silks. It is considered hypoallergenic, moisture wicking, and even anti-aging (cotton pulls moisture from your skin and has deeper wrinkles against your face).

About the Pillowcase:
*1 standard size pillowcase (Queen $45, King $50-convo)
*100% charmeuse silk (mulberry) on BOTH sides. Some companies only place the silk on one side!
*18.5mm (momme) --16-19mm is generally used for pillowcases/bedding
*French seamed, there are no raw edges or zigzags, every seam is fully incased-see above picture
*Natural color, no dye. You may dye to any color or leave natural ivory/white.
*Naturally, charmeuse does not hold form well, that means your pillowcase should not form deep wrinkles and maintain it's luxurious appearance

Silk vs. Satin??? --silk is better in every way!
Silk is natural and satin is man made
Satin is often produced from nylon and polyester
Silk is stronger and will last longer than satin
Silk shimmers, satin is glossy and more slippery
Satin does not have the antimicrobial and hypoallergenic qualities of silk
Satin tends to be "hot" and does not breathe like silk
Silk's natural properties are very good for your skin and hair, satin does not have those properties

Those that have worked with charmeuse know that it can be very difficult to handle. It is slippery and not for beginners! However, when handled well, it is gorgeous to sew with. This pillowcase would be a wonderful gift for a bridal shower, wedding, a friend, or for someone who has cancer, allergies, or eczema. Or just purely pamper yourself and sleep on the best at night. 1/3 of our day is spent resting on a pillow (hopefully).

(Care instructions off Google) As a general rule, charmeuse can be hand washed with cold water and gentle soaps. Rinse well, then add ¼ (one-fourth) cup of white vinegar to a clean rinse and rinse again. This will neutralize any soap residue and restore the silk's natural luster. It should be laid out flat or hung to dry, although clotheslined charmeuse should not be attached with clothespins, since they will leave marks. Charmeuse should also not be twisted or contorted while it is wet, because it may set permanent wrinkles in the fabric. If charmeuse does not include care directions, some consumers prefer to dry clean it, since dry cleaning is unlikely to shrink, warp, or discolor the item.

Cleaning silk stains:

Use a product such as Silk Spot Out™ to remove stains when cleaning silk. Treat food and beverage stains right away. Soft drinks and alcohol can leave stains if allowed to dry.
