There's something about Paris. The French have a saying for this something: "Je ne sais quoi." The intuitive translation is 'an indescribable or indefinable something;' which is perfectly fitting because it explains everything and nothing [wry grin]. For, although Paris is a place, it is more than a place. It is a compilation of small and large experiences that evoke a myriad of emotions: that first bite into a buttery croissant; sitting in a cafe, sipping wine, watching the world go by; wandering down a narrow shadowed cobblestoned street that leads to a grand boulevard, filled with sunlight, lined with stately trees; sitting on a bench, in an impossibly large room, spellbound by a breathtakingly beautiful painting 6.5. feet tall, 42 feet long.

The photographs in this section are the results of my meanderings through and around Paris. They're how I explain that 'indescribable something' in a language that I believe is most expressive, and therefore fitting - through light, shadow, color, movement, and emotion. "All I wanted was to connect my moods with those of Paris. Beauty paints and when it painted most, I shot." - Ernst Haas, photographer.
