One skein of yarn, dyed in a pale pink.

It is 51% organic cotton/49% bamboo. It is 3-ply, fingering weight; it is 220 yards long.

This yarn was dyed by me using natural dye: in this case, sandalwood. Natural dyeing is a more time-intensive process than conventional dyes. The yarn must first be mordanted, which makes the dye fix to the fiber, then steeps in the dye; I then wash (using a nontoxic fabric detergent) and air dry the yarn. All told, the process takes about three days from start to finish. Natural dyes are more environmentally friendly than conventional.

The yarn comes from a dog- & cat-friendly, smoke-free home. I've tried to represent the color as accurately as possible; please be aware that, as it is hand-dyed, there are subtle variations in the color throughout the yarn.
