Featured here is a custom engraved folding sunfish pocket knife by Rough Rider. It has been hand engraved (not by laser) by D. J. Reigel.

The nickel silver bolsters feature beautiful scrollwork, floral designs and nick patterns, with a satin finish.

The polished bone handles have a pocket-worn quality, and with the 19th century style engraving the knife has an overall vintage character.

The blades are 440 stainless steel. The large knife blade measures 3 x 1-1/8 inches (7.5cm x 3cm).

Folded, the knife measures 4-1/4 x 1-½ inches (10.8 cm x 3.8cm).

Let Dennis engrave the initials of your loved one on the bolster at no extra charge. A gift box is included!

The unique, wide blade is what distinguishes the sunfish and elephant toenails from other pocket knives. Popular in the 19th century, the stout blade found its way into the pockets of ranchers, lumbermen, teamsters, hunters and farmers. The sunfish knife served as a sturdy axe when struck with a mallet, and could cut through the thickest rope, rawhide and peltry. It could also clean fish or fowl with ease. It was the perfect tool that could fit in a pocket and serve a multitude of uses a-field.
