I found three dresses all made by the same talented dressmaker in the late 1960s or early 70s. I have never seen home sewn dresses so beautifully made. The detailing, inside and out, is immaculate, and the styles hark back to an earlier age. This one has a 1930 or 40s vibe to it, and is in such a fantastic colour! Short sleeves, a fantastic A-line princess cut, beautiful self-covered buttons, and generous kick pleats front and back.

I love the fabric: a pretty red polished cotton or cotton sateen with a design of tiny black/yellow/green Aztec type motifs. It also seems to be beautifully crease resistant! One of the other dresses I am selling is in the same fabric but a different colourway.

Dress fastens with the buttons at the neck, and a side nylon zipper.
