This fabulous little bowl was made by Noritake before c.1938. The stylized Art Deco flowers are hand painted in vivid shades of green, lavender and brick red against a black and ivory background. The round floral motif is then set off by the square bowl's very pale blue corners and handles.

This would be wonderful to hold lemon slices at your next tea party, or bonbons or other tidbits on the buffet table. Fantastic design and colors -- worthy of inclusion in the Japanese Art Deco exhibition currently on view at the Japan Society!

Marked: Noritake, Hand Painted, Made in Japan
Circa 1920s-30s
Made of porcelain or ceramic
Measures about 5.75 x 6.5 inches wide, and 2 inches high
Condition: the paint is worn on the purple flower; otherwise excellent
