This contemporary patchwork quilt measures 50" x 54", the perfect size for use as a sofa quilt, quilted throw, lap quilt, or kids quilt. It would look beautiful draped over the back of a love seat or at the foot of the bed. The simple but striking design contrasts an expanse of striped fabrics with a patchwork square border, resulting in a minimalist aesthetic that is both elegant and fun. Sure to be a joyful statement piece in any room!

All of the quilt top fabrics are shot cottons, which contain differently colored warp and weft threads that result in a solid hue with an element of depth and dimension. They are also lighter and softer than traditional quilting cotton. The very soft flannel backing is a patchwork of deep purple and blue which mirrors the main motifs of the quilt top.

This quilt features solid shades of blue, purple, green, orange, and pink that draw on the hues within the striped shot cotton area. The orange border adds just a hit of additional contrast. Free-motion machine quilting in a stippling pattern adds a dimension of softness to the geometric design.

This piece can be machine washed on a very gentle/handwash cycle and line dried-- so it should be loved and enjoyed!

This piece is part of a series of Shot Cotton quilts-- check out the rest here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/PippaPatchwork?section_id=11493436
