Blue Lotus - Utpala

The Lotus is a very important symbol in India and of Buddhism, it is known to be associated with purity, spiritual awakening and faithfulness. The lotus is rooted in deep mud and its stem grows through murky water. But the blossom rises above the muck and opens in the sun, beautiful and fragrant. In Buddhism, the lotus represents the true nature of beings, who rise through samsara into the beauty and clarity of enlightenment.
The different colors of the lotus have come to be associated with different aspects of Buddhism:

Blue Lotus - Utpala: This is a symbol of the victory of the spirit over the senses, and signifies the wisdom of knowledge. It is the preferred flower of Manjushri, the bodhisattva of wisdom.

In this beaded asymmetrical necklace I combined dark chocolate brown wood beads together with blue-green chrysocolla, red and brown coral and copper beads . The half moon shaped lotus flower charm is hand forged copper and has a antiqued patina finish. The necklace is 20,5" long, that is 52 cm.

Chrysocolla is a stone of inner peace, tranquility and wisdom. It aligns all the chakras and helps meditation.
