Back in the 1940s, Havana was the 'Las Vegas' of the Caribbean and people went there for the sizzling Latin music, dancing and general night life of abandonment. This was a souvenir my grandmother brought back from her trip there, and it is now time for me to let someone else to enjoy it, since it has been sitting in my personal jewelry box for many years. This art deco a hand-painted in green with two-tone pink flowers on gold plated metal demi-parure includes a bracelet with matching slightly dangle earrings. The souvenir set is enamel-painted in an off-white color with little roses. The bracelet is hand signed CUBA on the fold over clasp. The bracelet measures 7 1/4 inches long and is 1 inch wide. The screw-back earrings measure ¼ to ¾ inch wide and are 1 inch tall. Although pre-owned, the set is in excellent pre-worn condition ~ I have never worn this, and my Grandmother may have worn it once. There is minor plate wear and I see no nicks or chips in the paint. The screw-backs and fold over clasp are in excellent working condition and both are secure.
