This Design is the Hei-Matau or the fish hook. It symbolizes prosperity. Much of the Polynesian traditional food is fish. The fish were so plentiful to the Maori that the simple ownership of a fish hook meant prosperity. Today it also represents strength, determination and good health. It provides safe journey over water. It is about 2 inches and comes with a 18-20 inches hand spun black cord . Carved by Sitiveni Fehoko a master carver from the kingdom of Tonga. It is made from cow bone and it is of best quality.
