Hand sewn whimsical mola fabric applique in gorgeous colors! Original Arin Roberts design brought to life & filled with fragrant, long lasting french lavender buds!

Cross-cultural collaboration combining Mimbres, Kuna Indian art.. and mine. Inspiration came from ancient New Mexico Mimbres Indian pottery. I created the design, added the color.. then handed it off to a very gifted Kuna artist who translated it into Mola. Voila! Green and purple appliqued mola lizard is born. Neo-Mimbreño art with a Kuna twist!

Note the amazing amount of hand stitched applique. Traditional mola elements include 'puntitas'.. those purple spots you see all over her face and body. These are all reverse applique and so hard to sew. The mola work is just OUTSTANDING!

Layers of traditional reverse applique mola, beautifully HAND STITCHED by a very gifted Kuna Indian artist in Kuna Yala, The San Blas Islands, Panama then cut, hand pieced, fashioned & stuffed in New Mexico..

• 12 1/2 " long x 5 " across( arm to arm ) 1 3/4 " thick
• Fabric layers: 2+ .. backed with matching green
• Base mola layer: rich purple grape
• 2nd layer: rich green
• Lots of colorful applique on top of that
• Mola hand sewn in Panama
• Made into an animal and stuffed here in the USA by moi!
• Filled w/ all natural, dried lavender buds, a wee bit of hypoallergenic industry standard plastic pellets and fibrefIl

Bean bag style, versatile & very tactile! The applique is very well hand sewn.. the animal itself is machine stitched and triple stitched around all stress points.

She can sit up, drape or just hang out. Great on a couch, a bed.. or on a wall!

Info/gift card included.
