This is a MADE -TO-ORDER item. CONTACT ME BEFORE ORDERING THIS BIRDHOUSE. The version I will make for you may will be subject to the inherent variations of working with reclaimed materials, e.g., color and texture of wood and metal. Note the wood and metal color variations in the 5th photo. See my shop message for the current general production schedule. Contact me and I will let you know what material differences you may expect and a more precise schedule for delivering your birdhouse. Following is the original description:

Art deco + vintage wood and metal as sophisticated and ecologically friendly garden art! Birdlovers should also know that it is, as are all my birdhouses, a functional birdhouse that can stand up to many years of weather (all of the wood and metal has already survived many decades outside) and can accommodate most common backyard small cavity-nesting birds, such as finches, chickadees, wrens, nuthatches, warblers, and titmice, while the vintage walnut portal extension and copper portal protector discourage larger birds and predators from enlarging the entrance. It has a rear clean-out hatch, copper-lined ventilation holes on three sides and a drain hole in the floor, and notches on the inside front wall to aid fledglings as they exit the nest. The body is made from old yellow pine from a barn built in 1914 in Olivet, KS, and the trim, artwork, and roof from vintage metal roofing material from two other deconstructed Kansas barns. All reclaimed materials in my birdhouses are carefully selected for their structural integrity.

This birdhouse can be mounted on a flat surface (e.g., post or pole) or hung. If you want to hang it, I will be happy to add two eye screws to the roof (see http://www.etsy.com/listing/95139189/egg-shaped-modern-birdhouse-made-of for an example of what that would look like). Printed advice and instructions for both methods are included. See my other birdhouses at http://roundhouseworks.etsy.com. Join my Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/roundhouseworks.

A NOTE ABOUT SHIPPING: The rate for Alaska and Hawaii are double the rate given below for domestic shipments. In those cases USPS will be used (no tracking is available with that service).
