Hand-knapped (though not by me) obsidian arrowheads. These are mostly around 1 1/2", which makes them good for earrings, small pendants, costume decorations, etc.

Our bigger arrowheads (2" or more) are currently in a separate listing at 3 for $5.50 for the convenience of Hibiscus Moon's students, who use them for chakra work and healing, and anyone else who needs a larger size. . PLEASE NOTE: this listing is NOT SUITABLE FOR HIBISCUS MOON'S CLASS -- she's asked for the larger arrowheads.

If you've read the Game of Thrones books, you know why you need these: if you're only watching the movies, you'll find out.

Not to give away too much of the plot, but obsidian--volcanic glass, or "dragon glass"--turns out to be the only defense except fire against the "Others", the walking dead (zombies) who attack the Night Watch patrols beyond the Wall.

From "A Storm of Swords", book 3 of "A song of Ice and Fire" ("Game of Thrones" is Book 1):
"He heard a crack, like the sound ice makes when it breaks beneath a man’s foot, and then a screech so shrill
and sharp that he went staggering backward with his hands over his muffled ears, and fell hard on his arse.
When he opened his eyes the Other’s armor was running down its legs in rivulets as pale blue blood hissed
and steamed around the black dragonglass dagger in its throat. It reached down with two bone‐white hands
to pull out the knife, but where its fingers touched the obsidian they smoked.
Sam rolled onto his side, eyes wide as the Other shrank and puddled, dissolving away. In twenty heartbeats
its flesh was gone, swirling away in a fine white mist. Beneath were bones like milkglass, pale and shiny, and
they were melting too. Finally only the dragonglass dagger remained, wreathed in steam as if it were alive
and sweating. Grenn bent to scoop it up and flung it down again at once. “Mother, that’s cold.”
“Obsidian.” Sam struggled to his knees. “Dragonglass, they call it. Dragonglass. Dragon glass.”

I've been fortunate enough to acquire some obsidian needles, one of which I'm wearing as a pendant and some of which may be available elsewhere in the shop, but there aren't a lot of those--mine come from Davis Creek, CA, & I believe there's one site in Utah, and that's it.

I'd bought some arrowheads, too, mostly for my own use, but at over a dollar each.So when I had the opportunity to buy a hundred knapped in Mexico by craftspeople living near one of that country's many volcanoes, I jumped at it, especially because it means that I can offer them to you at less than I myself paid previously.

These are real arrowheads. They have sharp edges and should be handled carefully by adults, not children. We've restocked AGAIN, and this batch is a bit smaller--mostly around 1 1/2" or 37-39mm. If you need a larger one for something, convo & we'll see what we can do! The workmanship does vary from piece to piece, though pretty much all of them can be used as pendants, earrings, pouch decorations, etc. We will try to send pairs reasonably matched for size and shape if you ask, though of course they won't be completely identical.

The new batch (#6 --these sell out) which I'm getting ready to list, is a bit bigger, many very close to 2", so if you want smaller ones (around 1 1/2" or less) let me know and I'll do what I can.

I've made a few earrings and pendants with them myself (see the 5th photo), and am comfortable with their quality and usefulness (but watch your fingers! those edges are SHARP!)
while continuing to explore ways to attach and hang them in jewelry. I'm sure they'll make lovely wind chimes as well. I also have been supplying students of Hibiscus Moon, who are using them for healing. They require special packing, too -- see the 2nd photo, where my able assistant Syrus, age 6, is helping me tape them to a padded backing so that they won't bang together or go through the envelope when we ship them.

This listing is for 6 arrowheads: if you need 50 or 100, and we have that many left (we've sold out 5 times now) convo for a custom listing and possible discounts, especially on shipping.

PLEASE read our policies section for information about shipping.
